Ropivacaine hydrochloride, CAS number 132112-35-7

mesisng
  • Chemical Name: Ropivacaine hydrochloride
  • CAS Number: 132112-35-7
  • Molecular Formula: C13H21NO3·HCl
  • Classification: Amino amide local anesthetic
  • Primary Use:
    • Local anesthesia for pain management during surgical procedures
    • Analgesic properties for pain relief

Applications:

  1. Delayed Cerebral Vasospasm (DCVS) in Subarachnoid Hemorrhage (SAH):

    • RP-HCl encapsulated in nanoliposomes (NLPs) has been studied for its potential to improve neurological function, reduce vasospasm, and mitigate endothelial cell apoptosis.
    • While promising in animal models, further clinical trials are needed for human application.
  2. Veterinary Use (Ophthalmology):

    • RP-HCl has been shown to reduce corneal sensitivity in horses when applied topically.
    • It was effective in reducing sensitivity alongside lidocaine without short-term adverse effects, showing potential in veterinary ophthalmology.

Precautions:

  • Dosing: Correct dosing is critical to avoid toxicity.
  • Monitoring: Monitor for allergic reactions and systemic toxicity.
  • Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to ropivacaine or its components.
  • Intravascular Injection: Caution is needed to avoid inadvertent intravascular injection, which could lead to systemic toxicity.

Effect of ropivacaine hydrochloride and its dextroisomer (R)-ropivacaine hydrochloride on hERG currents using manual patch clamp method in HEK293 cells that stably overexpress hERG channel

Chinese Journal of Pharmacovigilance, 2024, Vol. 21, Issue (4): 391-396. DOI: 10.19803/j.1672-8629.20230326

To compare the effect of ropivacaine hydrochloride and (R)- ropivacaine hydrochloride on the human-ether-a-go-go-related gene(hERG) current in HEK293 cells that stably overexpress hERG potassium channels. Compared with dofetilide, ropivacaine hydrochloride has weak inhibitory effect on the hERG channel and (R)- ropivacaine hydrochloride has no obvious inhibitory effect on the hERG channel.

A Prospective, Single-Center, Single-Blind, Randomized, Confirmatory, Controlled Trial to Assess the Efficacy and Safety of PF-72 Combined with 0.75% Ropivacaine Hydrochloride in Patients Undergoing Single-Level Lumbar Discectomy

Int J Pain 2024; 15(1): 12-18 DOI: 10.56718/ijp.24-003

We conducted this study to assess the efficacy and safety of PF-72 (TGel Bio Co. Ltd., Seoul, Korea) combined with 0.75% ropivacaine hydrochloride in relieving the postoperative pain in patients undergoing single-level lumbar discectomy. PF-72 combined with 0.75% ropivacaine hydrochloride is an effective, safe drug delivery system.
